Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure, a quill Argent and a lightning flash saltirewise Gules fimbriated of the second. Attached below the shield a Red scroll inscribed "RAISING THE STANDARD" in Silver.

Symbolism
Dark blue and scarlet are the colors associated with Personnel Services units. The flash denotes speed in service while maintaining the standards noted in the motto. The quill stands for administrative excellence. Scarlet stands for courage and sacrifice, white for integrity.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 8 August 1995.
